TATA DOCOMO and BSNL lower national roaming tariffs
TATA DOCOMO and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have reduced their national roaming tariffs by up to 75 per cent and 40 per cent, respectively.
For STD calls during roaming, TATA DOCOMO customers will be charged Rs 1.15 per minute compared to Rs 1.5 per minute charged earlier. Meanwhile, for incoming calls on roaming, the customer will be charged Re 0.45 paise per minute from the earlier 0.75 per minute. Further, customers will have to pay Re 0.25 per local SMS when they are on roaming instead of Rs 1 charged earlier and for STD or national SMS, customers will have to pay Re 0.38 per SMS compared to Rs 1.5 per SMS earlier.
Meanwhile, BSNL has reduced roaming tariff for incoming calls by 40 per cent, STD by 23 per cent and charges for local calls by 20 per cent. The decline in roaming tariffs by both the operators follows the reduction in ceiling rates by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
